The month of May is about awareness of Multiple sclerosis. Or MS as it is popularly known.

May 30th is the  world multiple sclerosis day.

The theme for 2019 is to create an early awareness. My invisible MS will give a voice to people with MS to their experience and give people an insight on to the unseen impact of MS on everyday life. the campaign is flexible and includes:

  • Lobbying to improve support for people living with disabilities that are not visible.
  • Help MS sufferers manage their invisible symptom.
  • To sensitize the community to understand the needs of MS

MSIF the body that creates awareness and reaches out people with MS has a tool kit of free resources  for people who want to make or create positive change in the lives of about 2.3 million people round the world.

As a hypnotherapist my first MS diagnosed patient came with multiple issues.  I was too terrified to even deal with it efficiently. Eventually I realized that  as multiple sclerosis was about the hardening of the nerves, I could work with both reversing the damage caused by the sclerosis and look at the cause of sclerosis. Researchers have now established healing through mind body connect.

QOL (quality of life)  the subjective measure of a patient’s life satisfaction that is affected by the moods, fatigue or other cope mechanisms, life experiences and emotional support this is very difficult for a physician to assess.

MS interferes, with the ability to work, or pursue leisure activities  this interferes with the psychological state ;and social interactions. Chronic fatigue, and mobility limitations, leads to decreased employability in turn leading to emotional upheavals.  With MS the QOL is related not just to satisfaction or happiness but it leads up to function and productivity in the society
